Introduction--Understanding Worship

This is a weekly bible study. The purpose of the study streams out a need to practice teaching the word in any form. I wouldn't do it if I didn't first love the word enough to dig deep in it and pull out any hidden gem that may be hid within the text. May we both learn something from one another.

I start off by saying that study is the highest form of worship. Study helps you to delve deep into the very character of G-d that is hidden within the context of his love letter to us--John chapter 1 says that

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He is his word. Studying father causes you to think about him all the time. You end up talking to him in your mind. Eventually you speak to him audibly throughout the day. You then enter into another area of worship because worship is what you think about all the time. People get worship mixed up with the experience they have when they are listening to music. That's worship, but a lower form of it. It's too temporary to be anything less than a low form. You have to elevate your worship to another level. Begin to concentrate on the character of G-d--who his name says he is. Every name of G-d denotes a different aspect of his nature and his character. It teaches us a part of him and his covenant to us.

And finally, worship is a lifestyle. It becomes who you are. I read the book G-d Chasers by Tommy Tenney when I was a relatively new saint and at the core of his book he is referring to worship--thirsting after G-d so much that nothing else satisfies you like your relationship with him. Desiring to see his hand in every area of your life. You can become bored easily with anything else when you enter the stage of worship in your walk with G-d. Like any lifestyle it has to be built on daily practices. You have to seek him earnestly daily.
It's like any other relationship--I remember when my husband I were dating, we would talk on the phone for hours even after spending time with one another--we were blindly in worship of one another. We called one another all throughout the day just hear each others voice. That's the place the Father wants to occupy in our life. He reminds us time and time again in his word not to allow anything nor anyone else to occupy that place in our lives. If something else does, just know that it won't be long before it will be removed.

Now that I have said all that, I hope you join me in this study.
Be Blessed. Chosen.

This is a great idea. Except i started Genesis a little bit earlier and now I'm in Joshua. But I do have a group of 3 other girls that I study with. We read everyday and discuss what we learned, etc. And I do notice that when I first got saved, I took 2 hrs a day to read and pray and now it's slacked down to maybe an hour in the mornings. You remind me that i have to get back to the level I was at bc I felt so much better at that time,
